Professional Biography

Peggy Odom-Reed is a lecturer in hospitality leadership at the School of Hotel Administration, and currently teaches courses in management communication. She also has taught courses in leadership communication and organizational communication. As a certified professional in human resources, Odom-Reed has professional experience in leadership coaching and feedback consulting at Cornell University and human resources staffing and development at 3M Corporation. In addition to her corporate and academic experience, Odom-Reed has held positions in the state government, Florida Department of Corrections, and the federal government, Department of Navy, Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES). After earning a Ph.D. in Organizational Communication from the Department of Communication at Cornell University, Odom-Reed was an adjunct instructor at Ithaca College’s School of Business before joining the faculty of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. Odom-Reed has engaged in research focused on leadership, teams, communication networks, and performance.
