Overview:

The annual Hotel School Career Day provides an opportunity for Hotel School students to meet with representatives from a variety of hospitality employers in one central location. Career Day 2009 will take place on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 in the Carrier Grand Ballroom and the Ballroom Foyer of the Statler Hotel. (See list of registered companies below)

Full Description:
Employers attend the Hotel School Career Day to increase visibility, to illustrate the benefits of employment in their organization, and to provide information to Cornell students about entry-level jobs and internships. Students can obtain information on the organizations that will be attending the 2009 event through the Cornell CareerNet system. In addition, the Employer Profiles, containing a brief description of each employer, will be available at the Career Day event.

Many of these organizations also participate through Cornell's On-Campus Recruiting program and use the Career Day as an added benefit to interact with Hotel School students. Others employers attend the event to introduce Hotel School students to their organization and to collect resumes for future openings.   Some employers will focus only on the Career Day this fall, then have resume collections and interviews in the spring.

Students need to prepare in advance for their attendance at Career Day, with a well-developed resume and a "quick pitch" to use with employers explaining your interests and abilities. The Hotel School Career Management team will be conducting a special Showcase event in the World Atrium on Thursday, October 22, from 11am-2pm to offer information that can help students prepare for Career Day 2009.
