Independent Job Search
You are strongly advised to pursue your independent job search and implement other job search strategies in conjunction with on-campus recruiting. CornellTRAK and Permanent Job listings are only a few avenues to securing a position upon graduation. A proactive strategy in identifying and approaching companies that may have potential employment opportunities is invaluable to your self-marketing campaign and creates a foundation for your future career development.
Career Day, Company Presentations and the Atrium Company Showcases are other services that facilitate an independent job search. Networking with visiting industry executives on campus and at Industry conferences is a very important component and is strongly encouraged. Personally meeting executives and expressing your interest in their company, your career goals and qualifications may lead to potential job opportunities. We also encourage meeting with the Career Management staff in the Office of Student Services to discuss your strategies to successfully conduct your job search.
The Career Management Staff has many contacts at a wide variety of companies across the United States and internationally. Contacting these individuals may be very helpful as you conduct your independent job search. You may search for a list of contacts in a particular industry segment, at a particular company, or geographically.
