1) "The World"s Top 50 Cargo Airports". Anonymous; Air Cargo World.Jun 1, 2008.
     A disturbing trend is the continued decline in cargo volume at many U.S. gateways. Cargo volume at New York"s John F. Kennedy and Newark airports declined last year 2.8 percent and 2.7 percent, respectively. Cargo volume also declined at Chicago O"Hare, Oakland and Dallas/Ft Worth.

2) "Air Cargo Excellence Survey". Anonymous; Air Cargo World.Mar 1, 2008. p. 1.
     Dallas/Ft Worth International and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International were the top two airports in North America with cargo carried between 500,000 to 999,999 tons while Cologne/Bonn International and Luxembourg were the top airports in Europe in the same category. In the Middle East and Asia, Osaka"s Kansai International, Shenzen-Baoan International and Tokyo Narita International were the top three, respectively.

3) "Feature Focus: Top 50 Airports". Anonymous; Air Cargo World. Vol. 98, Iss. 7. Jul, 2008. p. 22.
     A table is presented which lists the top 50 airports the world and their locations including Memphis International Airport in the U.S., Hong Kong International Airport in China and TED Stevens Anchorage International Airport in the U.S.

4) "The World's Top 50 Cargo Airport". Anonymous; Air Cargo World. Vol. 98, Iss. 7. Jul, 2008. p. 20.
     The article presents the latest Air Cargo World list of the world's top 50 largest cargo airports in the world. Highligted in the list accordingly includes Memphis International Airport as the no.1 largest airport in the world. However, it is stated that Hong Kong International Airport is the no.1 for international air transport association (IATA). The TED Stevens Anchorage International in Anchorage, Alaska, a maintainace center for Northwest Airlines, accordingly stands at no.3.

5) "The World's Top 50 Airports 2007 Vs. 2006". Anonymous; Air Transport World. Vol. 45, Iss. 7. Jul, 2008. p. 59.
     Two charts are presented that list the top 50 airports based on passengers and movements which include Atlanta, Chicago and London.

6) "The World's Top Airports". Panariello, A.; Airline Business. Vol. 24, Iss. 6. Jun, 2008. p. 46.
     A table is presented that shows the top 150 airports based on passenger ranking for 2008, compiled by using data from Airports Council International, including Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia, O'Hare International in Chicago, Illinois, and Heathrow Airport in London, England.

7) "Climbing Up the Table". Pilling, M.; Airline Business. Vol. 24, Iss. 6. Jun, 2008. p. 44.
     As the table of the fastest growing airports shows, Moscow Domodedovo grew by nearly a quarter in 2007. The hub overtook Sheremetyevo as Moscow's main gateway in 2006 and has not looked back. The transfer of Lufthansa's passenger and cargo operations from Sheremetyevo to Domodedevo at the beginning of the summer timetable was a watershed event for this ambitious airport operator. Tempting Lufthansa to defect is a major coup for Domodedevo.

8) "Hong Kong Airport World's Best in Skytrax 2008 Facility Survey". Wilson, B.; Airports. Vol. 26, Iss. 30. Jul 22, 2008. p. 3.
     Hong Kong International Airport has been named the world's best by London-based Skytrax, which surveys passengers in its World Airport Survey on products and services. The 2006 winner, Singapore Changi Airport, came in second, Seoul Incheon Airport placed third, and Kuala Lumpur International Airport moved into fourth place. Munich Airport won as Europe's top facility, while San Francisco was named best airport for North America, Tel Aviv won for the Middle East and Cape Town was tops for Africa.

     Two tables that list the world's top 50 airports by passenger and by movements are presented, including the airports in Atlanta, Georgia and Chicago, Illinois which rank first and second, respectively, for both categories.
