Summary of Library Services, Equipment and Facilities

Borrowing from the Cornell Libraries - Your Cornell ID serves as your library card. The book loan period for graduate students is 180 days and 42 days for undergraduates. Visual materials may be borrowed for three days and reserve items for two hours. All loans are subject to recall by other borrowers. Overdue fines are charged for materials that are not returned on time. You may refer to our Library's Circulation Policy for details.

Collections - Our collection of books, periodicals, and newspapers is available in open stack areas. Details of our holdings are available through the Library Catalog. Purchase requests are always welcomed.

Computers - A limited number of networked computers are available in the library. Laptop computers are also available at our circulation desk for a four hour loan. The Binenkorb Computer Center in Statler Hall provides over 100 networked computers for Hotel School students.

Course Reserves - Course Reserve items are located at the Circulation Desk. The loan period for Course Reserves is two hours. Reserve fines are $.04/minute or $2.40/hour.

Document Delivery is a library service for obtaining electronic copies of articles and book chapters from other Cornell libraries.

Interlibrary Loan and Borrow Direct - Use our Interlibrary Loan and Borrow Direct services to borrow books from other libraries around the world! Requests can be submitted online.

Photocopiers - Available in the Library. Prices start at $.10 per copy with a Vendacard and $.15 per copy with coin. Vendacards are pre-paid copy cards that can be used in copy machines in all of the campus libraries; they can be purchased from a dispenser in the library. Color copying is also available.

Printing - Available through the University's Net-Print service for $.09 per page. Color printing is available in the Binenkorb Lab ($.50/page).

Renewals, Recalls and Holds - Available through the Library Catalog, by calling the library (255.3673), sending email or in person. These services are not available for Reserve items.

Scanning - A photocopier is also enabled for scanning documents.  Scans may be emailed or stored on a USB drive.
