Information for Faculty and Staff
Welcome to the Nestlé Library! We are dedicated to providing SHA faculty and staff members with the best library and information service in support of the teaching and research mission of the Hotel School.
Teaching
- Course reserves - We will place printed course materials, videos, and DVDs on restricted 2-hour loan for your students. Library staff can help you locate print and electronic copies of articles, book chapters, charts and tables for Blackboard, course packets, and course reserves.
- Library and Database Instruction - Contact us to arrange library and database instruction. We will work with you to prepare sessions for your students that will help them with assignments and research projects. We will also prepare course web guides with information and links customized for a specific class or assignment.
- Copyright questions - The Cornell Library in conjunction with the University Counsel's office provides service to answer your copyright questions.
Research
- Document delivery - Hotel School faculty and staff members should contact library staff to get our best document delivery service. For materials that are not available electrically or in the Nestlé Library request can be submitted through DocumentDelivery.
- Research Tools - The place begin your library research. The library reference team will be happy to work with you. Links to e-journals and subscription databases are available through Cornell Library web pages.
- Borrowing - You may request a Cornell library-to-library book delivery for pick-up here in Statler Hall within two working days. We also offer two Inter-library services to borrow materials from other libraries: Borrow Direct - to borrow from other Ivy League schools (four day turnaround); and Inter-Library Loan (two week turnaround). Borrowing policies are available.
- Hostline - Our fee-based service to assist you with outside consulting work.
- Hotel School Faculty book and video orders - The Hotel School has asked us to coordinate faculty book purchases. Purchases will be charged to your course or research account.
- Library Purchase requests - We rely on faculty recommendations for the purchase of new materials. Please send your requests to Don Schnedeker, Library Director.
