Naming the Center

By naming the CHR your name will be linked to the preeminent hospitality research program in the world. Your name will be associated with all of the center’s activities, facilities, and media, as well as center correspondence to the industry. Your name could appear on billions of media impressions per year in center articles published in such major media as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Orlando Sentinel, Chicago Sun–Times, Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Fort Worth Star–Telegram, Albany Times–Union, CNN, and the major trade and travel publications.

Naming the Executive Directorship

The center's executive director is a tenured faculty member appointed by the dean of Cornell's School of Hotel Administration. Your company name could be listed next to the academic director's name in international media that cover center publications, as listed above. Your company name will appear with the director's on CHR Reports and Tools that circulate to more than 85,000 leaders in the hospitality industry.

Naming the International Research Fellows Program

This program provides support to international faculty members who have a proven record and extraordinary potential to explore research projects that directly enhance the goal of linking research to industry needs and applications. Your name would be linked to the program itself and would support fellow activities, including grants to support research.

Naming the Editorship of the Cornell Hospitality Quarterly

The Cornell Hospitality Quarterly (CQ) is the premier journal of applied research serving hospitality practitioners and scholars around the world. The award-winning CQ, published by the Center for Hospitality Research, is one of the oldest and most respected hospitality journals. Your name would appear in all correspondence from the editor, which includes 8 to 10 press releases per year, more than 10,000 letters to academic and corporate organizations, and the CQ web site.

Annual Capstone Conference (Bridging Research and Practice)

In 2010 the CHR will host the 1st annual conference under the theme "bridging research and practice." Your name will be listed as the title sponsor of this first-time event which will draw an expected 150 international participants and speakers from academe and the industry. Your name would be included in all mentions of the event including media and press, advertisements, and more.

CHR Industry Relevance Awards

Industry Relevance awards are given to faculty for the most relevant research published via the Center for Hospitality Research. In 2010 an additional award in this category will be given to any researcher in the hospitality industry whose research has had a significant impact on the industry as a whole. Research Awards are presented by the Dean of the School of Hotel Administration at the CHR’s annual capstone conference. These awards could be presented by the naming gift donor.

CHR Student Excellence in Research Award

Four awards are provided to undergraduate and graduate students annually. Two undergraduates research awards are given at $500 each, as are two graduate awards, also for $500 each. Awards are presented by the Dean at the annual HEC dinner. These awards could be presented by the naming gift donor and the donor’s name used in conjunction with the award publicity.

CHR Podcast Series

This series of podcasts will be available to the thousands of registered users of the CHR’s website. Podcasts will explain recent research and explore the industry implications in a focused interview. Your name will be associated with all podcasts, which will provide research information of lasting value that is shared virally.

CHR Webcast Series

Using the Web 2.0 capabilities for interactive information sharing, the CHR Webcast series will present detailed information from recent research studies, and also allow for exploration of the implications of that research with hospitality practitioners and academics around the world. Your name will be associated with this series of long-form seminar-style webcasts.
