Kate Walsh
Kate Walsh is an assistant professor of management and human resources at Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration. Her primary research is in the area of services management, specifically the influence of organizational identity on service delivery. Dr. Walsh also conducts research examining the role of strategic human-resource initiatives on organizational performance. She has presented her work at a number of national conferences and her articles have appeared or are forthcoming in such outlets as Organization Science, Trends in Organizational Behavior, Journal of Applied Behavioral Science, Current Trends in Management Consulting, International Journal of Hospitality Management and the Cornell Hotel and Restaurant Administration Quarterly. She received her PhD from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College and her MPS degree from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration. She holds a BS degree in accounting from Fairfield University. Dr. Walsh is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the Academy of Management. Her pervious work experience includes the director of training and development for Nikko Hotels International, corporate training manager for the former Bristol Hotels, and senior internal auditor for Loews Corporation. Dr. Walsh is also a Certified Public Accountant.
