Joo-Seng Tan
Dr Joo-Seng Tan is Associate Professor of Management
at Nanyang Business School. In 2005, he was Visiting Research Scholar at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. He is actively involved in research and teaching relating to global leadership, cultural intelligence, and more recently, sustainable leadership. He has taught undergraduate, MBA, and EMBA classes, and these include the Master of Management Hospitality (MMH) program and the Berkeley-Nanyang Advanced Management program in Singapore. He has also taught in the Professional Development Programs as well as the General Managers Program offered by Cornell-Nanyang Institute of Hospitality Management. He has served as Chair of the Human Resources Roundtable at Cornell-Nanyang Institute of Hospitality Management. He has consulted for Fortune 500 companies, and he has taught in customized leadership development and training programs for Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. He is an active member of the editorial board of journals in the area of management communication and globalization. He is the country expert for the Asian Global Leadership Competency project sponsored by the Tokyo-based Asian Productivity Organization. He is regularly invited to be a speaker at professional meetings, including TMS Asia Pacific’s inaugural salary survey for Asia’s travel industry.
