Atul Sheel, Ph.D
Atul Sheel is an associate professor of finance in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He has a PhD in business administration (finance), a MS in hotel administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a BS from Delhi University, India. Atul has presented several hospitality finance courses and seminars in the United States as well as in Asia and Europe. His research focus is on corporate finance and hospitality investments. He has published several refereed papers in national and international refereed journals, including the Hospitality Research Journal, Journal of Hospitality Financial Management, and the Cornell Hotel and Restaurant Administration Quarterly. Atul has won several awards for his teaching as well as for his research. He is currently the editor of the Journal of Hospitality Financial Management and also serves on the editorial review board of several important refereed journals including UNLV Journal of Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Science, and the Journal of Food Service Business Research. He has served as a consulting editor for the Journal of Applied Hospitality Management. He has also served as the associate editor and content specialist (finance) for the International Council of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education for several years.
