Christopher R J Knable
Christopher R.J. Knable is a Principal with Elysian Hotels & Resorts which is launching their flagship in Chicago late this summer. An award winning hotelier, consultant and owner developer with more than two decades of experience, Knable has worked with and for some of the world’s legendary hotel companies around the globe in the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia.
With a remarkable range of experience on four continents, his global career started as a teenager washing dishes in private restaurants and progressed to owner developer through several phases including senior operations and marketing roles with renowned ultra-luxury hotel groups such as Peninsula, Regent and Four Seasons. As a consultant, he has worked on a variety of turnaround and ground up developments for the Royal family of Saudi Arabia and Trump. As a developer, some of his more notable projects include The Rosewood Mayakoba and Cipriani Punta del Este.
Active with teaching and mentoring, Mr. Knable serves on the advisory boards of The Academy of Travel and Tourism in New York as part of the National Academy Foundation as well as The Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management at New York University. He has written for or been featured in numerous print and broadcast outlets including the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.
He has received numerous accolades from both the public and private sector for his service to both foster children and separately the downtown Manhattan community following the tragic events of September 11th.
A graduate of Hunter College in New York, Mr. Knable is also an alumnus of CORO Leadership New York and a member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants. He resides in New York City and has two children.
