Robert Kauffman

Robert J. Kauffman is currently a Visiting Professor of Information Systems and Strategy at the School of Information Systems and the Lee Kong Chian School of Business at Singapore Management University. He heads the Information Systems and Management group, and serves as Deputy Director of the newly-founded Living Analytics Research Center. He also is a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Center for Digital Strategies of the Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College. Previously he served at Arizona State University as the W.P. Carey Chair in Information Systems. He also chaired the Department of Information and Decision Sciences at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota, where he was the Director of the MIS Research Center. He also served in the management schools of t of New York University and the University of Rochester. He also visited the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, and worked in international banking and finance prior to beginning his academic career. His graduate degrees are from Carnegie Mellon University (Ph.D., 1988; M.S., 1985) and Cornell University (M.A., 1980). His current research deals with pricing, channel management and information strategy in the travel and hospitality sector, for which he has won a number of international awards. His articles have been published in the Review of Economics and Statistics, Management Science, Information Systems Research, IBM Research and Development Journal, MIS Quarterly, the Journal of Management Information Systems, and other leading research journals.
