Tzung-Cheng Huan

Professor Tzung-Cheng (T.C.) Huan continues experiences as dean. He was appointed to a three year term, beginning February 2010, as Dean of the College
of Management, National Chiayi University, Taiwan.

Between August 2007 and January 2010, he was Dean
of the Tourism and Leisure College of National Penghu University (located on a 128 square kilometer island in the Taiwan Strait about 100 kilometers from the Island known as Taiwan). Besides being a dean of National Penghu University, he was the director for the college’s (1) Graduate Institute of Tourism & Leisure Industry Management, (2) chairman of the Department of Hospitality Management and (3) chairman of the Department of Marine Sport and Recreation.

Professor Huan takes teaching and research seriously. He takes a student-oriented multidisciplinary and bilingual approach to teaching. He is involved in practical and theoretical research on tourism, leisure and recreation. He has experience with and pursues inter departmental cooperation involving leisure studies; forestry and natural resources; and restaurant, hotel, institutional and tourism management.

Professor Huan is academically active. He has published more than 80 papers. He has also contributed to 5 books in English/Chinese. His publications are in areas including cultural/heritage tourism, international travel, benefits sought, travel behavior, environmental education, trip satisfaction, hospitality management, and tourism marketing.

Professor Huan is currently an editorial board member of Annals of Tourism Research (SSCI), Tourism Management (SSCI), Journal of Business Research (SSCI), Tourism Analysis, Advances in Hospitality and Leisure (Elsevier/Emerald), and Anatolia: An International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality Research. In addition, he has served as an ad-hoc reviewer for such journals as Social Behavior & Personality Review (SSCI), Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing (CABI) and International Journal for Tourism Research (SSCI).
