Timothy R. Hinkin
Timothy R. Hinkin is a professor of management at the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. He received his BA and MBA from Michigan State University and his PhD from the University of Florida. Prior to joining the faculty at Cornell, he had been an associate professor at the University of Virginia and a has been a visiting scholar at Griffiths University in Brisbane, Australia, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His areas of expertise are leadership, group dynamics, employee retention, and managing service quality. He has published almost 50 articles in academic journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Hospitality Research Journal, and The Cornell Hotel and Restaurant Adeministration Quarterly. He has worked extensively in executive education and has consulted with companies such as the International Association of Conference Centers, Westmoreland Coal Company, and the Round Hill Club.
