Dr Jackie Brander Brown

Jackie Brander Brown is a senior learning and teaching fellow within the Manchester Metropolitan University Business School. 'Professionally' she has worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers - becoming a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales - and for De Vere Hotels, with whom she qualified both as a fellow of the British Association of Hospitality Accountants and as a member of the Hotel and Catering International Management Association. Her 'academic' background, meanwhile, includes a BA (Econ) Hons [First Class] from the University of Manchester, and a PhD from Oxford Brookes University. Dr. Brander Brown's main teaching specialism is in advanced management accounting control system design while her research interests concern the utilization of 'blended learning' to enable large groups of students to more effectively experience management accounting theory within 'real world' contexts. In particular - and as part of a Philip Law Scholarship award from the European Case Clearing House - she is presently investigating the development of integrated multimedia case simulations with a view to providing a 'window to the real world' for students.
