Introduction to the Project
The Industry Best Practices Project represents the most comprehensive effort to date to chronicle the hotel industry's superior management and operational ideas, practices, and procedures, as well as to highlight individual companies and properties associated with those best practices. With the sponsorship of American Express and the American Hotel and Lodging Association, Cornell's research investigators conducted a far-reaching assessment of the industry's best practices by seeking out, recording, and analyzing excellent processes at the level of individual function areas and overall operations. The practices and procedures that are featured in the Best Practices Study constitute timeless ideas for excellence in hotel operations and management at all levels.
