Ithaca, N.Y., December 6, 2004 -- JohnsonDiversey, Inc. has signed on as a senior partner with the Cornell Hotel School's Center for Hospitality Research in a major commitment to support research that aims to advance operating practices in the hospitality industry.
JohnsonDiversey, a leader provider of cleaning products for the hospitality industry, will underwrite an international research project focusing on the costs and benefits associated with the cleaning of hotel rooms. The study will be led by Cornell Professor Michael Sturman.
"We will examine how individual performance varies and how those variances affect operating outcomes," Sturman said. "Our goal is to show how the cleaning function affects important measures such as total costs, customers satisfaction and profitability."
Johnson Diversey becomes the 11th partner for the Center and its 35th corporate supporter in total. "We are delighted to partner with JohnsonDiversey, an internationally recognized leader in this sector," said Gary Thompson, executive director of the Center. "This alliance is further evidence of the Center's proven ability to build a preeminent research organization with the intellectual and financial resources to serve the needs of the hospitality industry."
"We are delighted to work with Cornell on this research project" said Angel Santos, vice president, marketing, North America. "From full-service and quick-serve restaurants to hotels to contract and in-flight catering, JohnsonDiversey ensures that food safety standards are met. We also enhance restaurant reputations, worker safety and overall operational excellence."
