CHRS 2012 Call for Submissions
Call for Presentations, Panels, Workshops, and Tutorials
Conference Theme
Service Excellence and Performance Growth in the Global Hospitality Industry:
Strategies and Approaches for Navigating Forward
Industry executives and academic scholars are invited to submit proposals for presentations, panels, tutorials, and workshops related to the theme of the conference for the 2nd Cornell Hospitality Research Summit (CHRS), scheduled for October 8-9, 2012, at the School of Hotel Administration on the beautiful Cornell campus in Ithaca, New York.
An essential element of CHRS is to bridge the gap between academic research and practice. Therefore CHRS will feature an equal number of speakers from both industry and academia during each session.
We encourage you to submit a proposal for review by the Selection Committee. Both presentation content and speaking expertise will be considered in selection, with priority given to research based on real-world business topics OR high-quality academic work addressing real business situations for hospitality, travel, tourism and related industries.
While we encourage submissions for all topics related to hospitality and related businesses, the primary focus of the 2012 conference will be on Service Excellence and Performance Growth in the Global Hospitality Industry.
We are especially looking for submissions that explore high-impact and contemporary issues such as evolving customer value, needs and preferences in different parts of the world; rapid changes in technologies and their impact on operators, employees, and customers; changing competitive dynamics and evolving strategic orientations in firms; cost pressures and opportunities for waste reduction in organizations; impact of regulatory changes, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, on performance, growth, and service excellence; uncertainty in capital markets and resulting impact on performance; New trends, tools, techniques, and analytics for demand, pricing, and distribution channel management; social media; mobile innovations, and other rapidly emerging concepts and their impact on hospitality businesses; among others.
