Nancy Knipp

President & Managing Director, Admirals Club & Premium Services
American Airlines Admirals Club

Nancy KnippNancy Knipp was appointed Managing Director of Premium Services at American Airlines in June 2004 and was recently promoted to President of the Admirals Club.  She is responsible for the 44 global Admirals Club lounges, First Class Flagship and Arrivals Lounges, as well as the VIP Premium Services airport staff.

Operating the Admirals Club network as a small marketing business within AMR, she has full profit and loss responsibilities.  In her first year as leader of the Premium Services team, the Admirals Club membership grew by over 10%, surpassing all previous membership revenue records, and generating significant profit margin performance.   Under her leadership, Admirals Club introduced value-added product placement agreements, providing technology and in-club improvements, special Admirals Club member-only offers, and announced a strategic partnership with Regus Group, heightening the value of the membership to American's most frequent travelers.

Knipp previously served as Managing Director for American Airlines Japan.  As the first westerner appointed to this role, she lead the airline through the biggest expansion in their 17-year history in Japan, redefining the company's business strategy. 

Other roles in Asia included Regional Marketing and Sales Manager responsible for American Airlines sales and marketing efforts throughout China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Indian Subcontinent, and Australia.  She was promoted to Managing Director Asia Pacific increasing her responsibility to operations, finance, and human resources in 2000.

Since joining to the company in 1980 as a part-time airport agent, Knipp has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in several departments including airport operations and sales positions in Minneapolis, Chicago, Florida, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong. 

Knipp is a native of Minnesota and resides in Dallas, Texas.
