Susan J. Helstab

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts


In 2009, Susan J. Helstab was appointed Executive Vice President Corporate Marketing at the company’s headquarters in Toronto. In this role, she oversees all aspects of Four Seasons global sales and marketing effort which includes advertising and public relations; direct sales, worldwide reservations, social media and e-commerce for the current portfolio of 83 hotels, resorts and residential properties in 35 countries, as well as properties under development worldwide. Helstab joined the company in 1987 and previously served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing.

Prior to joining Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Helstab was Vice President at McCann-Erickson Advertising. During her tenure there, she worked in the advertising agency’s offices in New York and Toronto for eight years in progressive positions of responsibility in account management. Her diverse account responsibility included such established brands as Coca-Cola, American Express, Nescafe, Johnson and Johnson, and Tetley Tea.

Helstab earned an Honors Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration with specializations in Marketing and Finance from York University. She currently serves on the advisory counsel of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Foundation, is a board member of the US Travel Association’s Meetings, Incentives and Trade Show Council (MIT) and on the advisory board of the Cornell Center for Hospitality Research at Cornell University.

A native of Ontario, she and her husband and daughter reside in Toronto.
