Benjamin "Patrick" Denihan, Jr.

Co-Chief Executive Officer
Denihan Hospitality Group
Patrick Denihan’s experience in the hospitality industry extends back to his childhood, where he got his start in the “family business” owning and operating hotels in New York City. Today as co-CEO of DHG, Patrick has leveraged his expertise to transform that same family business into a portfolio of hotels featuring the nationally acclaimed brands of Affinia Hotels and The Benjamin. Together with co-CEO Brooke Barrett, Patrick keeps a watchful eye over DHG’s development – nurturing the portfolio for growth and profitability.
In his day-to-day role, Patrick directs all aspects of DHG’s investment, finance, and growth strategies, managing the overall vision and mission for the company. He has led DHG through several recapitalizations and the profitable conversion of numerous assets, ensuring that DHG is always well-capitalized for acquisition and partnership endeavors.
A recognized authority in the hospitality industry, Patrick is often sought after for speaking engagements and expert commentary on industry trend and development issues. He is sourced for articles, quotes, and opinions from key industry media leaders – from Real Estate Weekly and Hotel Journal, to Hotels’ Investment Outlook, Hotel & Motel Management, Crain’s NY Business, and more. In 2007, Patrick was asked to assume an advisory board role for the prestigious Cornell University Center for Hospitality Research.
Patrick is a former member of the board of directors of the Hotel Association of New York City, Inc., and currently serves on the boards of two highly respected educational institutions, St. David's School and the Benedictine School for Exceptional Children, where he also chairs the board of trustees for the Benedictine Foundation. Patrick also serves as an advisory board member of the Convent of the Sacred Heart School in NY.
