Welcome to the Cornell Center for Hospitality Research web site.
As a young lawyer in Chicago in the early 1990s, I often used academic legal research in trying to find a creative "big picture" method for addressing my clients' concerns. In the ten years since I left private practice, I have observed that a significant amount of academic research does not have any practical application to the discipline it seeks to serve. The center is different, because the results of its academic research can give the hospitality industry tools to address problems or provide new ways to think about issues. These results are in the form of Cornell Hospitality Reports, Cornell Hospitality Tools, Industry Roundtables, the Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, and other conferences and projects.
