Lodging

Participants are responsible for making their own lodging arrangements and paying for them at their own expense. We have negotiated special PDP rates with a number of hotels, as well as on-campus facilities. Please note that complimentary shuttle service to and from lodging will be available on class days. Lodging rates are subject to change due to availability.

*The preferred lodging option for PDP, the Statler is located adjacent to the School of Hotel Administration on the Cornell University campus. The Statler's 153 beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites offer complimentary high-speed internet access, dual-line phones with voice mail, Judith Jackson bath amenities, coffee makers with Wolfgang Puck coffee, and twice-daily maid service. Amenities include a 24-hour onsite exercise facility and business center. Taverna Banfi, the hotel’s signature restaurant, offers an authentic Italian dining experience set in an original Tuscan taverna complete with wine bar and regional Tuscan-inspired specialties.

The Homewood Suites by Hilton is located five minutes from Cornell University and minutes from shopping and restaurants. The hotel is an all-suite hotel with studio and one-bedroom suites. Every suite has a fully-equipped kitchen, and a separate living area with a sofa bed. A complimentary hot Suite Start breakfast is served daily. Monday through Thursday, they offer a Welcome Home Reception from 5:30p.m.-7:30p.m., where they offer a light meal, wine, beer, and soda.

The Homewood Suites by Hilton has an indoor pool, whirlpool, and exercise room. Complimentary wired and wireless high speed Internet access is available in our suites and lodge.

As one of Ithaca's newest hotels, the Hampton Inn-Ithaca's spacious guest rooms provide the comfort and ease you need to get your work done and to relax the day away. All guest rooms feature many complimentary amenities, such as in-room microwaves and refrigerators, personal coffee makers, irons and ironing boards, dual-line telephones, same day dry-cleaning service (not complimentary), and complimentary high-speed wired and wireless Internet access. If you do not travel with your laptop, you can stay on top of things with their small business center in the hotel lobby, which is available 24 hours a day. You can work up a sweat in their fitness center or unwind in their indoor heated pool. They offer a complimentary deluxe hot breakfast daily and for those of you who are in a hurry in the mornings they have the Hampton On-the-Go breakfast bags.

PDP 2010 Rate: $139 per night.

The Hilton Garden Inn Ithaca features spacious guest rooms equipped with a large work desk, two phones, voice mail, dataport, and complimentary high-speed internet access. Each room includes a microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker, iron, and hair dryer. The hotel offers a 24-hour business center, a pantry area that has snacks and sundry items for purchase and an onsite restaurant. A casual lounge, fitness center, indoor pool, and whirlpool are also available for relaxation. Located in downtown Ithaca across from the Ithaca Commons, approximately one mile from the Cornell campus; complimentary shuttle available upon request.

On-Campus Housing Option

Used during the school term by Cornell undergraduate students, these on-campus dormitory units are located 2 miles (3.2 km) from the Hotel School on bus routes. A basic, lower-cost alternative to full-service hotels, these student apartments have basic furnishings, are air-conditioned and have a telephone and TV in the common area. Each unit contains two bedrooms with 2 extra long single beds in each bedroom and a shared bathroom. Bed and bath linens are provided. Laundry facilities are located in community center nearby. Daily housekeeping services include bed-making, fresh linens, cleaning and trash removal.

Please note that these accommodations are not “hotel quality” and offer limited housekeeping services and few amenities. Although each unit has kitchen facilities, no cooking utensils, silverware or flatware are included, with the exception of a coffee pot, cups and coffee packets.

Internet service for your personal laptop is available, including wireless access. Detailed instructions on accessing this service will be available at check-in.
