Hospitality Leadership Through Learning
PIHE

Taking Hospitality in New Directions

The mission of the Leland C. and Mary M. Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship (PIHE) is to support the academic entrepreneurial curriculum of the School of Hotel Administration. Entrepreneurship consists of knowledge and skills that can be taught, supplemented by programs that reinforce that learning. The PIHE provides the activities and venues that allow aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to implement their entrepreneurial knowledge, with a particular focus on the hospitality industry and related businesses. With the support of industry leaders and entrepreneurs, PIHE offers entrepreneurial students such programs as the Hospitality Business Plan Competition, entrepreneurs in residence, and internships. It also supports outreach to nontraditional students in the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities.
