Student Groups and Organizations
The Leland C. and Mary M. Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship fosters student learning through SHA courses on entrepreneurship, the career track for MMH students, and a wide array of course options for students interested in business startups, social and sustainable enterprises, and venture financing. Student organizations, extra-curricular options, and other extramural experiences in entrepreneurship are supported and/or sponsored by the Institute. The IHE offers a range of extra-curricular learning opportunities, scholarships and other forms of support for students, who wish to run their own business, innovate within a larger organization or provide services to entrepreneurs.
- Conversations with Entrepreneurs - this is an informal "conversations with" speaker series of leading hospitality entrepreneurs which features their innovations, business creations, and leadership in the industry.
- Extra-curricular student activities:
- Hotelie Entrepreneurs - is a School of Hotel Administration student organization that helps students seek developmental opportunities in the hospitality industry and exercise their creativity to develop successful enterprises. Through business competitions, think tanks, and hands-on experience, whose goal is to promote entrepreneurship and creative thinking.
- Cornell Hospitality Advisory (CHA) - is a student organization that is devoted to educating the student body about the consulting industry.
- CHC Inc. - is the only consultancy operated by current students from the Cornell School of Hotel Administration, the hospitality industry's premier research and education center.
- BR Legal - provides affordable, professional quality legal services that are vital to the formation, operation, and eventual success of any start-up or emerging growth-oriented business.
- BR Ventures - fosters entrepreneurship throughout the Cornell community by identifying, supporting, and adding value to entrepreneurs and funding high-growth companies.
- BR Incubator - was established to stimulate entrepreneurial activity within the Cornell community through the creation and growth of early-stage businesses.
- Student Agencies - is the nation's oldest independent student-managed company.
- Entrepreneurship@Cornell - includes the annual Entrepreneur Resource Expo, EPE Summer Internship Program, campus-wide speaker series.
- Cornell Entrepreneurs Network (CEN) - links Cornellians to foster career success.
