Dan Kathan is the Chief Executive Officer for Student Agencies, Inc. (SAI). The mission of Student Agencies is to provide Cornell University undergraduate students with actual experience at starting, effectively running and growing businesses. As CEO he manages the strategic direction of the organization, mentors the student President, CFO, and the individual managers of SAI's various businesses and has ultimate responsibility for the financial health of the Organization.
Mr. Kathan brings over 20 years of senior management experience in companies ranging from $10 to $450 million in annual revenues including managing multiple successful turnarounds. Prior to accepting the position at Student Agencies in 1998, he held progressive positions for Toshiba Display Devices, a manufacturer of large and super large color picture tubes, most recently serving as Vice President of Operations and as an officer of the Company.
Mr. Kathan also serves on the Board of Directors of Evaporated Metal Films, Inc. a local thin film coating company.
He is a 1970 graduate of the Engineering School at Cornell and earned his M.B.A. at the Johnson School in 1973 in Operations Management and Finance.
