Scott E. Melby
Scott E. Melby is Executive Vice President, Development Planning & Feasibility for Marriott Lodging. He joined Marriott in the Development organization in 1987 as a Director. Mr. Melby is responsible for the evaluation of the market
potential and financial returns for all proposed Marriott lodging products throughout the world, and the supervision of Lodging Development's accounting and finance activities. Further, he directly participates in all multi-unit hotel transactions, and supports other areas of the company including asset management and new product development. Staff reporting to Mr. Melby are located in Bethesda, Miami, Beijing, Hong Kong, New Delhi, London and Zurich.
Mr. Melby is a graduate of the Master of Professional Studies Program at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, and he received his B.A. degree from Hobart College. He spent six years with Laventhol & Horwath in Philadelphia and Boston as a hotel development and operations consultant before joining Marriott.
