Fellow alumni,

I am honored to be your 2012 CHS president as we celebrate several important milestones. This year marks the 90th anniversary of the School of Hotel Administration, while in May, CHS celebrates 84 years. I encourage you to participate in the various celebration activities hosted by your chapters and the school. This year we also have a truly global leadership team, with me in Hong Kong; Liv Gussing Burgess, 1st Vice-President based in London; Raj Chandnani, 2nd Vice-President based in Los Angeles; and Christine Natsios, Secretary and Stephen Lipinski, Treasurer back in Ithaca, NY.

In 2012 we will continue initiatives that started last year as part of our three-year plan to increase engagement among our stakeholders. We have added a Recurring Dues function which allows for your dues to be paid automatically through credit card deductions, and are working on a survey to learn how we can better serve your needs. Together with the School, we are developing a mentorship program and restructuring the Faculty Road Show program to bring more faculty out to chapter events. Join us this year by renewing your membership to the Cornell Hotel Society!

As we celebrate the 90th Anniversary of our School, I encourage everyone to "pay it forward" by being involved and connected with the School through CHS. Look for opportunities to attend CHS events, volunteer to mentor a student and/or provide internships or jobs for graduates. Please also consider giving back financially by making a donation to the School's Annual Fund at https://www.hotelschool.cornell.edu/alumni/giving/makeagift.html. Regardless of how large or small, your gift is important for the School's success.
