International Applicants
About 10 percent of the school's undergraduates are from outside the United States. At last count they represented more than thirty countries. International students are especially appreciated for the cultural dimension they bring to the program.
International students studying in the United States must have twelve years of primary and secondary education before they are eligible to attend a university or college. As an international applicant, you'll need to fulfill all the requirements for a first-year or transfer applicant.

Resources for International Students
The International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) is the primary resource on campus for current international students. The ISSO can advise you about immigration issues; financial matters; campus services for academic and personal counseling; medical care; housing; and even hints on dressing for Ithaca's winter weather.
The office plans an international student orientation (called "PREPARE") at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters that includes many social events to help you meet other international students and make a smooth transition to the Cornell community. In addition, ISSO organizes annual trips for international students to places like New York City, Boston, Montreal, and Washington, D.C.
Email isso@cornell.edu if you have any questions about their services.
