First-Year Applicants
We are looking for students who have a rigorous curriculum and an outstanding record of academic achievement. We want students who have leadership, entrepreneurial interest and passion for the hospitality industry - typically demonstrated through first-hand work experience.
The Cornell application consists of the Common Application, which Cornell uses exclusively, and the Cornell University Supplement to the Common Application. Please review the application instructions provided by the Undergraduate Admissions Office.
First-Year Application Requirements:
Standardized Tests
- SAT or ACT with writing
- SAT Subject Test in math (level 1 or 2)
- International Students: official TOEFL or IELTS score
Interview Requirement
As an applicant to the School of Hotel Administration, you must complete an admissions interview, either on or off campus, during the year in which you apply. You can request your interview online before you have submitted your application.
Secondary School Subjects
Sixteen units (full academic year of study in the discipline noted), including four of English, three of math, two of science (including one of chemistry)
Other Recommended Preparation
Additional units (full academic year of study in the discipline noted) of math and science, and three years of a foreign language
