Hotel Ezra Cornell
Hotel Ezra Cornel (HEC) is an annual weekend-long educational conference put on by the students of the Cornell School of Hotel Administration for leaders of the hospitality industry. Comprising educational seminars, leisure activities, and food and beverage events, the weekend strikes a thoughtful balance between education and entertainment. During the weekend, Hotel School students practice the skills they have learned in the classroom and showcase their talents to industry professionals.
HEC Board Members
For elected board members, HEC also serves as a three-credit hotel elective course, HADM 4491. During the year, the student-selected board plans, organizes, staffs, and directs the conference, which is held each April. Following the weekend, the board selects the Managing Director and the Board of Directors for following year's HEC.
Students who are interested in running for board positions must be in good academic standing, with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Eligibility requirements for specific board positions can be obtained from the HEC office, 255.3824 (Statler Hall, Room G-72), and will be distributed to the student body. Students interested in a board position are encouraged to discuss their intention with the HEC course instructor.
