Externship

Externships take students inside a hospitality-related organization to experience firsthand how decisions are made and strategies are implemented.

Career Management staff members in the Office of Student Services can assist students in obtaining externships relevant to particular career interests.

Recent externships have included:

  • Entrepreneurship at Plumpjack Group in San Francisco, California
  • Marketing at Canyon Ranch in Tucson, Arizona; the Crowne Plaza Singapore; and the Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
  • Operations at Elite Concepts in Hong Kong; PKF Consulting in Los Angeles, California; Red Mountain Sap in St. George, Utah; the Four Seasons Singapore; and The Scott, Singapore
  • Real Estate/Finance at the Four Seasons Singapore; the Intercontinental Hotels Group in Atlanta, Georgia;and at the Kumsung Baekjoe Company in South Korea
  • Revenue Management at Hotel Village Atibaia in Sao Paolo, Brazil; VIVA USA, Inc. in Chicago, Illinois; and with the InterContinental Hotels Group, Singapore
