Career Tracks
From day one of the MMH program, in addition to the required core courses, students are immersed in the Career Track of their choosing, completing a minimum of 12 credits of required and elective courses in one of the following tracks:
- Human Resource Management
- Marketing Management
- Operations and Revenue Management
- Real Estate Finance and Investments
After selecting a Career Track, students begin working with the faculty Career Track advisor, who has a professional working knowledge of that particular area of industry, and who understands its unique issues. In addition, this advisor has many industry contacts and connections, and will help students develop valuable networking skills. Most Career Track advisors also consult professionally and conduct research in their area of expertise, giving them an unsurpassed depth of knowledge.
In addition, each Career Track has an advisory board made up of six to eight industry professionals who hold prominent positions in that field. Each industry advisory board works with MMH faculty members to develop appropriate course offerings and Career Track activities. The board members come to Cornell for roundtable discussions and networking, helping to connect students to the industry and to mentor them on their paths to hospitality leadership.
