Hotel Ezra Casino
For one night, and one night only, the Terrace Restaurant, formerly known as a popular lunch spot for Hotel School students, was transformed into a trendy Las Vegas club, lounge, and gaming destination. To any average Cornell student, the mere thought of this idea seems laughable at best, if not downright ludicrous. However, a team of highly-talented student designers, chefs, and service managers executed its transformation flawlessly and, even for a skeptic like me, convincingly. An HEC ice sculpture, human-shaped paper lamps, colored lights, gaming tables, two bars, mirrors, and bottles upon bottles of Moet champagne brought a small piece of Las Vegas to the Cornell campus. The décor was so professional, the appetizers so classy, and the guests so well-dressed that I see no reason as to why the Terrace cannot permanently be renamed “the Terrace Club and Lounge.” Dean Johnson, what do you think?
