Joseph Kiferbaum

Joseph Kiferbaum was born and raised in a northern suburb of Chicago. Growing up, he had a wide variety of interests – one of which was traveling. From hiking trips to family vacations, Joe always enjoyed seeing new places and interacting with new people.

However, it wasn’t until high school that Joe began thinking of a career in the service industry. After holding a sales position at a local retail store, and working in I.T., he decided to explore his interest in hospitality. Joe’s first position was as a front desk agent at the Staybridge Suites in Glenview, IL. Following his exposure to the hotel industry, he decided to pursue his passion for service, and applied to Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration.

As a freshman, Joe was a Function Manager for the Hotel Operations team of HEC 82. He also served as a Teaching Assistant for Financial Accounting 121. This past summer, Joe worked for the Four Seasons Chicago in the Finance and Accounting department. While Joe’s experience in the hospitality industry has been limited to operations, he hopes to get involved with hotel development and real estate.
