The development and application of pricing strategies in the hospitality industry are presented. Marketing, economic and financial pricing principals are applied in the context of the hospitality industry. Students are exposed to both theory and the practical application of pricing tools and analytical processes. Major trends and issues in hospitality pricing are examined and discussed, including the emerging role of the channel management and dynamic travel packaging. Readings, lecturers, discussions, cases, exercises and presentations by industry experts are used to acquaint the student with the complexity and the methods of executing tactical and strategic hospitality pricing actions.
