About
Tim Ryan
My name is Tim Ryan and I’m a junior in the School of Hotel Administration.
The place I call home (aside from The Statler Hotel) is the small town of North Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Though I love a small town, my goal upon graduation is to work at a large hotel in a city.
I’m honored to be a part of the Statler Leadership Development Program—SLDP for short. The program prepares us for our careers by giving us tangible leadership opportunities through roles as student supervisors and managers. My home department is housekeeping, but you may see me in a number of other places in the hotel, since cross-training is a critical component of success in SLDP.
While in housekeeping I have had the opportunity to work in multiple positions. I’ve gained experience as a room attendant, turndown attendant, and houseman, to name just a few. This upcoming semester I will begin working at the front desk to learn its operations and to complete the full rooms-division experience. I look forward to advancing in the program throughout this next semester to a leadership position emphasizing personalized guest service.
