As a junior in the Hotel School, I have been able to take advantage of the Statler Leadership Development Program (SLDP). Students in this program work at the Statler in a variety of positions - from entry-level to supervisor, manager, director, and even student general manager.

Geoff Gray '08

Geoff Gray, a senior at the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, is completing his term as the first-ever student general manager of the university’s Statler Hotel. One of 40 students in the school’s Statler Leadership Development Program, Gray was named to the position last fall.

My name is Brett, and I am a junior at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. A northern New Jersey resident, I knew that Cornell’s Hotel School was the place for me.

I am currently involved in the Statler Leadership Development Program as a student front-office supervisor. SLDP gives students from Cornell’s world-renowned School of Hotel Administration the opportunity for hands-on experience in supervisory roles.

At The Statler Hotel, I am the student supervisor in the kitchen at Taverna Banfi. When I’m not taking classes or working, I call Massillon, Ohio, home.

Michaela Wolfanger '08

In addition to studying at the School of Hotel Administration, I also work at The Statler Hotel as a member of the waitstaff at Taverna Banfi. I am originally from Buffalo, New York, and after graduation I plan on exploring a career in hotel and restaurant development.

My name is Tim Ryan and I’m a junior in the School of Hotel Administration. The place I call home (aside from The Statler Hotel) is the small town of North Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Though I love a small town, my goal upon graduation is to work at a large hotel in a city.
