Geoff Gray has been appointed rooms director at the Statler Hotel on the Cornell University campus. Gray oversees guest service, housekeping and front-office operations at this upscale property serving guests from around the world.
A 2008 graduate of Cornell's School of Hotel Administration, Gray worked in the Statler throughout his undergraduate years, rising to become the hotel's first-ever student general manager during his senior year.
“Geoff brings a proven record of accomplishment at the Statler Hotel and a strong working knowledge of the hotel's operations,” said General Manager Rick Adie. “With his background and his exemplary commitment to service, he is an ideal match for his new position.”
A native of San Diego, Gray has worked in the Statler Hotel since enrolling at Cornell in 2004. A member of the Statler Leadership Development Program, he gained experience in nearly every department and progressed through a series of operational and management roles. As student general manager his senior year, Gray worked alongside Adie in taking an active role in the day-to-day management of the property.
“The Statler Leadership Development Program was a great way for me to learn every aspect of how the hotel operates,” Gray said. “I look forward to leveraging that experience and helping our team to further enhance the Statler's reputation for service innovation and leadership.”
Last April Gray also served as managing director of the 83rd Hotel Ezra Cornell, the school's annual student-run hospitality conference.
